Then not far away was Masaki who is slowly reducing his stock ready for retirement. The rain stopped long enough so i could net out a good selection of 7 koi from an outside pond.

Leave Isawa by train , early in the morning back to Tokyo .Change trains three times to visit the breeder Kurryman who lives just outside theTokyo area. Look at many koi and bowl for closer inspection and prices but I only brought one box of twenty three koi at 17 – 22 cm in size. After a busy afternoon netting out koi we then get back onto more trains onto Nagaoka. Arrived late afternoon in the dark and wet ,with rain lightening and thunder going on all around the town. Into our hotel which will be our base for the rest of the trip.Next day heading out in a hire car traveling into the hills of yamakoshi and Niigata area .

Two trains for 3 hours. They netted a whole pond for us to select out some very nice Kindai Showa a Metalic Doitsu Ochiba and two high grade Kohaku. One of which will be going to a koi show this weekend before being shipped back home. They are approx 33 – 38cm. Prices start at £ 295 – £ 395 each.
We hope to hear from Hajime Sakuma after the weekend for the results .
