Another long car journey out to meet Takahashi.
Pictures of his house & family, surrounding area with lots of snow built up in the last few weeks.
I selected some nice Tosai mix of Doitsu Kohaku, Kohaku, Showa, Beni Kumonryu and other koi.
I also brought two Kumonryu and a stunning Doitsu Sanke.
We have a hobbist with us who also had a busy time selecting Tosai for himself from a pond.

Tuesday the 10th – First thing in the morning we headed back on the trains to Tokyo, then another two local trains to the Kurryman.
Here you can see the breeder netting a whole pond for me to hand pick some very good quality Showa, Kohaku, Tancho Kohaku, Shiro Utsuri, Shusui, Hi Utsuri and Sanke. Sizes 15 – 22cm. Prices range from £48 – £95, this is due to quality and size.Plus most of the Shiro Utsuris are Female.

After buying 50 mixed koi it was back onto the trains to Niigata for the rest of the week. We have been traveling most of the day, around 7 hours of catching and waiting for trains.Next day we hire a car to head for the Niigata coast area.

First at Sakuma we checked and took more pictures of the two show koi ( Gin Rin Tancho Showa & Hi Showa )
Next we selected a nice Doitsu Shiro Utsuri and a box of mixed Go – Sanke, sizes range from35 – 49cm.
I also brought a stunning 4 – step kohaku, around 35cm from his show pond.

Next I went to the Tosai house where Sakuma San netted out two ponds.
I was able to buy 44 mixed koi of Kohaku, Sanke, Showa and a few others.
Sizes range from 15 – 25cm, large tosai for this age. Prices to follow.

Then onto Hiroi, we found three nice Doitsu Shiro Utsuri and a three step Gin Rin Goshiki. All around 38 44cm.

It has been a very busy day selecting high grade Nisai and Tosai.
Back onto the trains tomorrow, visiting the Kurryman then onto the hills of Niigata area.
